User-Contributed Transcription Cottage Grove Jany 18th, 1850Brother SamuelYours of Dec., was received two days Since, was glad to hear from you, was not aware that it had been so long since I had written you -- I have written very often of late, but I believe on reflection that my letters have all been directed to Milo, I suppose I do not always realize the fact that you are not there I generaly intend to be punctual in my correspondence but am perhaps sometimes negligent, the fact is I am getting to have less and less time to write unless I keep late hours, Sarah's health is very poor this winter, and our little girl has been quite unwell for the last three or four months, has been more troublesome than when she was a babe. Circumstances which require much of my care, and attention, my health is as good as usual this winter, Theo, and Helen, also Olive and little one all well
