User-Contributed Transcription There is considerable Du Quoin news in it. Mr. Wood is East assisting Miss Paine. The babies have really had a hard time with Diarrhea - both of them, but both seem better now. Willie has very perceptibly lost flesh - one night he did not really get to sleep till after two o'clock. I would think he was asleep and just get nicely covered and disposed for a snooze myself when he would cry. He cried about two hours very hard indeed. I could do nothing to still him. Wilder sleeps finely all the night. I cannot leave him on the bed an instant, awake, without watching - he creeps to the very Edge as Mayo used to and looks over without Mayo's carefulness. I could put on short dresses now - we have enough ready to begin with, but this weather is too cold for the change.
