User-Contributed Transcription Antoinette DunbartonMay 24 ' 56Bangor Dunbarton 24 May - 1856Dearest Isaac- The day is done and all have retired to rest but me. When I listen I can just hear the soft breathing of the dear babies - but there's no sound or motion from little Mayo's bed- & no dear Isaac for me to speak to - except as I talk to you on paper, and this I could not resist the inclination to do. It has been very warm yesterday & today. The babies have fretted a good deal. Willie has considerable diarrhea; but they both sleep as well as usual at night, wake at half past four every morning & I get right up and dress me then. I am better myself to day - have had diarrhea attended with some pain ever since you left - and have felt miserably in the mornings - but get[left-hand side] Love to all - hope very strongly to hear from you tomorrow.
