User-Contributed Transcription teachers ought to be. Not long since, I read a lecture which Mr. Russell delivered on the Teacher's duties in which he says that "every teacher should be a living Encyclopedia to his pupils." I think he is a most perfect example of this. I have heard him lecture twice already, and these lectures as well as each recitation show abundantly that he has a fund of information which very few if any can boast. No one can avoid being pleased with him. My recitations at present - are in Etymology, Analysis of the Eng. Language, Rhetoric, History, & French, beside Reading and Elocution in which every member is expected to join. Have not yet commenced Drawing, but intend to do so. The expense, as nearly as I can determine will not exceed forty dollars. I have been obliged to procure some new text-books but - a much less number than I anticipated. Our lesson in Rhetoric consists of practical exercises given out by Mr. R. and we use no book. If there is any other branch you would
