User-Contributed Transcription Antoinette Merrimack N.H.Dec. 2. 4. 1850 Merrimack, N.H. Dec. 2, 1850My dear friend, Here we are, brother George and I at "Merrimack Normal Institute. We came hither today, accompanied by father. The New Haven project resulted very much as you seemed to have anticipated. A letter reached us, last Thursday, the 28 of Nov. stating that Miss Bacon once had a class, to whom she listened, as we supposed, and whose reading she directed and regulated, and that she was now pursuing the same cause with a class in Boston. The next day father saw a gentleman who has been a teacher, and a pupil also, in this institution, who gave so flattering an account of everything connected with it, that we at once decided that it was the best place for us. The term commenced this day, soBangor, via Milo. Dec. 10, 1850[left-hand side] This is Merrimack, Reed's Ferry, N.H.
