User-Contributed Transcription Portsmouth 6 mo 23d 1859Respected FriendI recieved thy letter yesterday stating that thou hadst disposed of thy ashes for the present season and that S W Furbur had a cargo to sell I would be very much obliged to thee to say to him that if his ashes are of the same quality of thine we would take his cargo at fourteen cents per bushel and find skow to land them the first of the eighth month would be the most convient time to recieve them if S W Furber concludes to send them please write soon From Thy FriendLevi Almy
