User-Contributed Transcription Samuel Bangor Aug. 1st 1856 DunbartonBangor Aug 1st 1856Brother IsaacLucy slept about all of last night without once coughing waked at 5 in the morning very much distress for breath until half past six she suffered very much without any cough when she was relieved by the breaking of a small abscess on the lungs and has been quite comfortable since she has had then abscesses quite frequently for two or three weeks past and they are always mended just before breaking with a lightness and considerable distress, but the one this morning was much worse than any before Dr McRowen says we must expect them to continue until about the time of her confinement which he thinks may be in a few days. We hope she may then find relief but have many fears that she may sink under it.The weather for a week past has been oppressively hot and there have been many cases of Cholera Morbus, but one fatal case I believe, a daughter of Dr Mills near us aged about 12 yearsS.W.
