St Paul June 15 1858St Paul June 15th 1858Brother IsaacWe arrived here Friday at 4 Oclock A.M. per Steamer Milwaukee, all well although somewhat jaded, we were detained twenty four hours between Madison and Prairie Du Chiene. Some three miles of the road was under water and in some places badly washed, we stoped over night, at a one horse tavern, at a place called Mazomania, what an euphonious name. The Upper Mississippi never appeared in gayer habiliments, beautiful beyond all comparison, the first Bbl of apple came to hand to day. Charges 2.98$ freight on the balance will be less. The Boats on the Miss charge 30 cts per 100lbs but no package less than $1,00. I can probably sell them here for about 8 cts, no very great speculation. Money matters here are in a shocking condition, we have not yet commenced housekeeping will not until after our return from Cottage Grove next week, Mother F's health is
