User-Contributed Transcription 1856 Thursday noon Aug, 2d --Dear mother Isaac is writing to Samuel so I will put in a note. We feel now since Samuel's last letter came, very anxious to hear again both from dear Lucy and the precious baby. Do you not begin to be tired & worn out - dear mother - not so much with care as with anxious watching? I do hope your health will not fail, and that the babe and its mother will gain rapidly, or slowly, - I suppose it cannot be expected they will improve very fast. We think of you all many times in the day. A letter, good & kind, came from Mallie by last mail, from Searsport. It is hard for her to be away from Lucy so long. O how I do long to see you all. It is a comfort to hear so often. Samuel is very kind about writing,
