User-Contributed Transcription A.B.P. to I.S.M. Dunbarton N.H.April 27. 1850 Dunbarton, April 27. 1850.My dear friend,- This delightful Saturday afternoon, I am enjoying at home - in my own quiet - Dunbarton. I came from Goffstown early this morning - had a very pleasant ride. Yesterday and to day have seemed really like Spring. more so than any days we have had before - so warm and sunny - and then the grass being to look quite green, in some places. How pleasant it is to see so many tokens of returning Spring. This morning I listened to the joyous songs of the sweet little birds, till, I felt almost as light - and happy as the merry little creatures themselves. You speak of its being very cold where you have been. It has been so here, until within a few days. When I was at home two weeks ago, it was snowy and very windy all day Saturday, and cold as winter. I rode down to school Monday morning in a sleigh. Mother was then quite unwell. Her eyes have been, for two or three weeks so much inflamed, that she has been unable to use them at all, but I find her now much better, though not well. I have decided since I came home, to close school atMilo May 6, 1850[left-hand side] Many thanks for the privilege of knowing your name. A.
