User-Contributed Transcription Cedar Grove Nov 7th 1850Dear FolksWhat for you so cruel to me, that you did not let me hear from any of you by Wednesday Mail you Almeda, surely, if none of the rest ought to know the heart of a Mother, when I left Lucy so sick how do you think I could wait a week before I hear from her. & now its after 8, we begin to think that Ann wont come today we've Strain'd our eyes looking for her. If there is n't a letter what Shall we do. 7 oclock well your letter has "arriv'd" Ive felt better on that score, but Joseph & Albina especially was very much disappointed that Ann did n't come, we also had a letter from Isaac, his place of residence at present is Manchester N.H. 2 or 3 of our last letters he had not arrived. I think, Ann, that you had better come home Monday I am inclined to think that Almeda with Jane, can do all that is necessary to do it will not be more then when I was there last summer, & the more still & quiet it is the better for Lucy, & the faster she will get along, So she can come home. If her cough continues any at all I would like to recommend to steep slowly in a coverd dish some thorough {unclear} let it be very strong take a teacup full or nearly that put in loaf sugar enough to make it a palatable Syrup & take a teasponfull or so when she needs it not refuse it if she really thinks it good for her even if it does not taste goodI said to you all only Sam'l so I guess I'll direct to him.
