User-Contributed Transcription I am sorry for her disappointment. Tuesday was showery all the A.M. cleared away about noon. Mayo's third eye tooth is through. I walked to Maria's in PM stayed till five and walked back. O how much good the showers have done! Everything shines in beauty out of doors. Yesterday Lucy and I went out and weeded a long time and enjoyed it finely. Then Eliab came up and I went down with him & Mallie & I went down town. After dinner Maria came up here and spent the P.M. and we had a fine time talking. Eliab has hired, I believe, a two seated carriage & two horses to go to Milo. She wants very much to go to Milo with us, but must stay with Ellen & Samuel I suppose and there would not be room either with the three babies. Lucy & I could not possibly carry our boys in our laps all the way without some back-breaking. I expected to go in stage all the while, but it would have been hard. I dreaded it - shall send the baggage by
