User-Contributed Transcription AntoinetteBangorJune 9, 1855 At Lucy's Friday morning June 9, 1855.My dearest Isaac, Here we are, Mayo & self in the front chamber at Lucy's sitting close by the window. It rained yesterday all the P.M. and all last night and is cloudy this morning, but I imagine will be pleasant by noon. Lucy has been cake and I have been reading aloud to her from a Library book. "Modern Agitations." I have read sketches of James Russel Lowell, Fred. Douglass N.P. Rogers. etc. Mayo is close at my side playing with my combs & brush. He seems happy as need be here much more so than at the other house. Lucy and I went down town yesterday about ten o'clock and home about one, leaving the two little folks with Lizzie & Ellen. They were just as good as could be - both asleep when we came home. Lizzie had given them dinner at twelve and got them both asleep herself. She is first best for taking care of children - devises all manner of way and means to please them. Lucy says she feels perfectly safe to leave P.P. with her much more than with Ellen. Lucy and I scoured the city for pretty shawls yesterday, and found among a new lot just received at "Hatch and
