Is'nt it too cruel to have it so deserted, and over run with weeds. I cannot bear to think it is so. It is marvellous how vegetation thrives there - your tale of the peach trees at the bottom of the garden is almost beyond belief. I do not think I should care to go there to see it in its present condition. Well I must tell you somewhat about the "Brownvillians at Riderville" as Lucy says. and their deeds. His face was bitten badly and poor Maria felt sadly to see him so disfigured, but nae' the less there are worse things in the world than flies. Then after dinner we all, with torches & turpentine clothes, went out to pick some berries on stems to send fresh to Lucy. - got a peck box full of nice ones. Between two & three
