User-Contributed Transcription since we had had one from you but perhaps not I pity your lot in regard to L. but suppose there is no help for it - her mother us'd to be just so, 'tis constitutional.Josie says we did get up quite a letter she and I & did send it in due form & that you had given us no credit therefor we cannot conveniently write to Eliab at this time & therefore Josie wants you should request him to get a few quines of paper Some ink & a pr of shovel & tongs four cheap [unclear] to put on the old care table and bring them up when he comes & if convenient for you you may get for me a skien of unbleach'd cotton a 45 spool -- I wish you would write me more particularly about your health you may if you please furnish Eliab some money to get these things and charge it to me or if Sam'l is not to busy to get them - as to Joseph's being better I cant perceive any difference from week to week but I do suppose he is as he has been very gradually growing more helpless it is difficult for him to get his food & drink to his mouth I can hardly bear to think of it, but the probability is that he will by & by be unable to do it - His voice seems some weaker than it us'd to be he cant well wash himself now
