User-Contributed Transcription I went to Sebec to meeting last sabbath, heard Mr Batchelder preach a good sermon. I stopped at the Sabbath school saw about 30 scholars and 5 teachers; quite a contrast to our sabbath school. I am very sorry about Isaac's books and Mr Bush's letters. as soon as James comes home, he must send them in a package to be left at the office in Bangor: it is a pity that James must be at so much trouble about them when they might so easily have been brought but the greatest pity is, that Isaac will be obliged to do without his books for two or three weeks when he really needs them. I have written to Miss Samson by Mr Wells and I want you should ask her whether she has received it and let me know in your next letter. There is always an uncertainty about letters when sent by private conveyance therefore I want you should inquire about it. There is a book that I borrowed of Lydia Lawson, which I wish you would call there and return. Martha and Ellen rode down to see me Monday morning just as we were going to washing but did not get out of the chaise because Ellen was not able to bear the fatigue of getting out and in. Mrs. Hill came along yesterday for mother to go to Mrs. Henry Sargent's s visiting' but when they got to the river they found her gone away, so Mrs Hill spent the afternoon here. Abby is at home and Naomi is not very well. I have scratched down all the news I can think of so good byeLove to Mr. T and little B. E.A.
