User-Contributed Transcription Antoinette Dunbarton New HampshireFebruary 27, 1852Jonesboro March 13 1852Home, February 27, 1852My dear friend, -I have been writing all day long, for the town, copying the Report of the Superintending School Committee, of which father is Chairman, but it is completed now and I gladly engage in the more pleasing duty of writing to you. Yours of February 1 and February 7, reached me last week. Two letters in one week! How good it did seem and how I wished it would always be so. I mailed a little letter last Saturday thinking it might be the last I should write, at present; but yours of the seventh inst. came by the mail of the same day, andchanged the prospect somewhat. I am very sorry that you are disappointed in carrying out your plans; and hope you will not be long in suspense, it is so unpleasant. I try to think circumstances will favor your coming to New Hampshire soon. I knew that I wished to see you before; but not how much till I found there was doubt about your coming this Spring. If it cannot be, I presume it will prove, as Hannah More's "Patient Joe" said everything did, to be "for the best", and we will take all the comfort
