User-Contributed Transcription destined to be a strong one. but it will for some years have many a hard struggle to keep above water, it has doubled its membership since its organization which was not much to do as it at first had but 15 members, Our Minister, Rev'd Burdett Hart, is just the man for the place, an ardent Christian, an eloquent preacher, prepossessing in his appearance and winning in his manners, one whom his people will love, and all respect, We organized a Cong'l Church at the Grove about 5 weeks ago with 13 members, four by profession among them Alfred Homes and my brother John. Since then we have had quite a revival there. There have been some 20 Engineers, when I left there the 25th inst there had been 3 family alters erected, my brother Theodore is among those who have begun the new life,We are all in excellent health. Percie is growing tall and stout I think the climate is good for him. I've not sent him to school since I have been here. I think he learns quite as much at home. he is a very good reader and is learning to spell quite well, I rec a letter from Mother a few days since, all well in Bangor. How sad that Sam'l Harlow? should be in the condition he is, following his brother CharlesGive a great deal of love to Nettie and the children, also to Anna and the DoctorYoursS,W, Furber
