User-Contributed Transcription in the fall of 1855, 14 1/3 acres of land for $900, when he paid the note he sold 11 acres of this land for $3500. These things account for the haste there is here, and the want of attention to the little things that go to make up life. I have not become much acquainted here yet, have been introduced to but two Ladies in St. Paul and one of those last evening, a Mrs. Goodwin, who is from Racine, and was acquainted with Anna there, I think I can tell now I like the place after becoming more acquainted,. If the ladies are as much possessed of the age of 3 percent as the men are, I don't believe I shall like them.Much love with best wishes and a promise to write again.SamuelS.W.
