User-Contributed Transcription April 21st. Not having sent my letter last evening I open it this morning to add to it. This village was thrown into a state of much excitement yesterday by an incident upon the Pearl Road. The train due here from Cleveland about five P.M. ran over a cow at the East End of the East Bridge mutually knocking each other from the track. The Engine left the track as it went upon the bridge (the track is upon the top of the Bridge as at Kendalls Mills) the bridge is forty feet above the water and about 150 ft in length, there were two baggage cars one 2nd Class and the other 1st Class Cars, the Engine went over the bridge off the track and leaped from the abutment down the bank as it left the bridge the tender following it, the baggage cars went past the Engine and then down the bank, the near end of the second one stopping near the top of the bank the forward end of the 2nd Class
