User-Contributed Transcription There is opened a vast field for Christian effort and the disciples of Jesus should rejoice and praise God that they may have the privilege of working for him and aiding, with the means he has bestowed to carry forward this mission enterprise. We should "do with our might" and thank heaven for every call to benevolence. June 15, Mr. Cordley Math 6. 3d and 21st verses. "But when thou doest alms let not thy right hand know what thy right-had doeth; That thine alms may be in secret; and they Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly". Charity, Benevolence, should be a ruling principle of very heart. Sincere love to our fellow beings should prompt our every act. 1. Consider the nature of real charity. There is a vast difference between true charity, and that which only seems to be. The christian desires to be benevolent and kind, while the worldling only desires to seem so. Affectation always blunders, sincere feeling, never. 2. The influences and effects of charity. 3. The sources 4. The happiness and hope, love or charity is of God and those in whose heart it dwells will
