User-Contributed Transcription Aug. 18 - Sabbath. Mr. Marshall preached two most excellent discourses. In the forenoon from Neh. 4-6 -"For the people had a mind to work"- said much of the results which follow from people's being really in earnest. If the disciples of Christ ere more in earnest in laboring for their master, how much might they accomplish, God helping them. The prophet of Mecca once said, "If the sun were on my right hand against me and the moon on my left I would not give up my work." O may I have more of this spirit in laboring for my Savior. Let me strive and pray to possess it. The afternoon text was "To what shalt a man profit etc. A very impressive discourse. O what will become of me if I am not better for listening to such sermons? It is my earnest prayer that I may be a growing Christian. O the infinite value of the soul, "it is just worth the price that has been paid for it."
