User-Contributed Transcription 1850we ever had -a great many of the church members spoke and spoke with much feeling. I do hope it is the beginning of good things. The important period of time in which we live was the great topic of conversation. We are just entering upon the last half of the present century. Who can but "be sober" when thinking of what has taken place during the last 50 years and what will take place ere this century departs. Most who now live and act will then be in their graves - others will fill their places. sometimes thoughts like these make me sad - at other times there is pleasure -real true pleasure in the thought of exchanging this simple earth for a bright heaven where I shall see Jesus and live with him forever. O that I could feel sure that Christ is mine and I am his. I desire no greater joy than this. O let me live for Christ that I may have his presence in death.Jan. 13. Sab.
