Glorious thought, blessed be God for giving, in his word, evidence of its truth.1849 Apr. 29 Leonard Parker preached to day. His subject in the forenoon was on the respect & reverence due the heavy headed. He spoke very impressively of the duties of children to their parents, and of the results of disregarding these duties. I feel that I am guilty in this respect. Lord aid me to give my precious parents "honor due" - To labor with my might - for their happiness. Who more deserves my care? The afternoon text was from Heb. 12, 1 "Let us lay aside every weight and the sin wh. doth so easily beset us." I have recently written two or three little notes to some associates. Let my most fervent prayers for God's blessing accompany them. Nothing I know can be accomplished without divine aid. O that God's work might be revived here, that his wondrous power might be made manifest.
