User-Contributed Transcription Sept. 29 O that I could always feel the value of time - how infinitely precious it is. How strange it is that it must take one the whole of life to learn how to live. Why can I not see & feel the duty that rests on me as clearly as I shall when death comes. I must try to think more of dying. this will aid me to live more soberly & to improve the present time in more active and zealous labors for Christ. -- This wicked heart! When 'ere I think a victory gained over some sinful habit, I make some new discovery. I feel more and more that my heart is deceitful above all things & desperately wicked - none but God can cleanse me - nothing but the blood of Christ can make me pure, and like my savior.Oct. 13- How grateful I ought to be to my God for my Sabbath privileges. It is terrible to think that there is a possibility that they may make my condemnation greater. O that I could be more like Christ more meek & lowly - less irritable - it seems sometimes as if I made a little progress - God can help me
