The sinner, notwithstanding his dependence on God, must putforth voluntary action in order to be saved. Had not the withered arm been stretched forth it would not have been restored. In the very effort to raise it, strength came. As soon as he made the attempt to obey the command of Jesus power was given him to raise his arm, and "it was restored whole, like the other". So, the sinner has a part to perform in procuring his own salvation. We can do nothing of ourselves, but God worketh in us, and will grant all needed aid.
