User-Contributed Transcription Dear Sister Anne. Among other letters which gratified my eyes when I found my trunk was one from you To be sure I was a little disposed to quarrel with is as being upon only half a sheet; but it was better than none. Eliab wrote none at all.You speak of visiting relatives &c. I did not think at first so much of seeing those I knew nothing about, perhaps never saw, but begin to like them where I have become acquainted. Mrs. Dickinson I have not seen - I did not when I came here even know her husbands name. She lives over the river, and I did not know the way. When I was at Northfield, Cousin Hannah kept promising to go over with me but did not. Now I am elsewhere, and my time belongs to not myself. I shall certainly embrace the earliest opportunity to go there. I have been to Winchester to see Cousin Josiah, but it was when I first came here, long before I received your letter. When I was there I thought I remembered going there once with Mother to an Uncle Rich's, but I knew nothing of him, whether living there or not. I should have been happy to have gone there if I had my shirts I received from Mrs. Shepperd at Brunswick they are nice ones! I have bought a new coat, but it is a great rough sack to wear in woods &c. You tell me to write much &c. I do wish that you and some of the rest of the folks would write half or quarter as much & as particularly as I do
