You inquire about Mr. Crosby - The cause of his trouble is doubtless dispepsia - hereditary - and also strengthened & continued by the use of tea coffee tobacco, and especially luncheons at all hours of the day during his whole life. I suppose it is impossible, utterly, for him to throw it off as you say, but he is a most miserable being when these spells are on hm - weeps, groans, screams, wrings his hands etc. I never had any idea of such a state before. His poor wife hears all patiently, but is very much overcome by it. Our house has piazza front and back - parlor, sitting room, large bedroom, dining room, store closet & kitchen (very convenient) below, - and fine chambers above having large clothes presses and drawers - we do not furnish parlor nor chamber above it - our room below, "spare lodging room" as Mrs. Cofram says, over sitting room, two back chambers appropriated to Jane, & John Furber, who boards here and attends Hampden Academy - about three miles. We have all furnished to our mind, enjoy ourself much, & feel more settled than before since we were married. don't you wish you could spend an evening with us now and then in our cosie little sitting room? I do. I have not heard from Milo since Jane came - a fortnight since. Angella Everett & Abby Hill Loring have each a son. Dr. Snow died recently. I do not think of any more news. Prof. Shepperd has been giving is grand sermons lately on Bible characters, Abraham, Judas, Baalim, Peter, Philip, Thomas, Stephen, etc. Have not hear anything so good and original for a long time - speaking of the rage of "Stephen" & enemies when they "quashed on him
