User-Contributed Transcription as usual in all the pretty girls. Joseph, judging from his words and actions, seems to be settling down into Bacheloric despair. I feel as if when we go to live in Bangor and he boards with us, I can make his life happier than it is now, but I don't know. I shall try. He asked me, in reply to something I said one day, if "I considered bliss better than happiness!" I worried to you in my last letter about Anna, but the same day my letter was mailed, we received one from her. She seems to be well situated and enjoy herself finely. I am so glad. I was afraid she would be homesick and sad. Mother feels quite comforted about her. Letters from the "Pineries" at Wisconsin bring interesting intelligence. Olive is married~ Her husband (one Joseph Haskell) has resided near Warren Furber some time., & when, four or five years since, he came to Maine to visit his friends, at Warren's request, he came to Milo. He was "then and here" smitten. They had corresponded some time before Olive went there, and were not long, it seems, in "making arrangements" after her arrival. She is a good girl, and deserves what I hope she has found - a good husband. Mehitable says she shall go in the Spring! ha! One Mr. Ricke from the east part of Milo has bought the Crockett lot, which Charles used to own - lives in Almeda's house while he builds his own. Has a wife and five children. Still, good sort of people, Almeda says. You inquire if it is "Julius Bartlett." His name is Julius. Are you acquainted with him? He was Assistant in Foxcroft Academy last fall. An excellent Teacher, so called. I intend to visit his school
