User-Contributed Transcription Lucy BangorMay 3 1852Bangor May 3rd 1852Dear Brother IsaacYour last letter of Apr 9 to Eliab was received a few days since. We ought and intended to have answered it immediately, or rather to have written immediately after Eliab came home, which was Saturday, the 24th of April.I expected he would write every day, and therefore neglected to do so myself. I do not, however, feel guilty of great remissness in regard to letter writing. I filed a bundle of letters for Eliab a few days since, and I think these more of mine among them than from any other two correspondents. But enough of this. Eliab is much better than when he went to Water Cure, and he thinks his health continues to improve daily. He had done into business with Mr. Haskins. He will write you about it. We hardly know from what you have written whether to expect you this spring or not. Much as I want to see you, I almost hope you will decide to wait and come with Anne, it will be such a disappointment to her if you do not. However, you know what is best about it.
