User-Contributed Transcription or Almeda have written the particulars in regard to her sickness. The text at her funeral was "Is it well with thee - is it well with thy husband - is it well with the child?" Samuel put her death in the paper with the passage, "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God." I think the term "June hearted" would apply to her as well as to any one I know of - It is a very severe blow to Almeda, she has depended so much upon Lucy, since James died - for years she has been a companion for her mother, you know. Mother said Mrs. Rider seemed to feel it as much as if she were our own child. Mother went from here sooner than she intended because of Lucy's sickness. She and Anna will probably stay at Brownville & Milo until the middle of Aug. or thereabouts, and then I hope start together, Mother for Mass. (and N.H. if I can prevail upon her to do so) and Anna to Chicago. I suppose Eliab keeps you advised respecting his affairs. Maria was much pleased with your letter, Nettie. It was darling good - just right - and it was very kind and good of you to write it. Eliab was away when it was rec'd, as Samuel wrote you. She waited his return before answering it - he came day before yesterday
