User-Contributed Transcription 11th , who should come but Joseph, Eliab & Lizzie Quimby. Liz came to visit here, at Mrs. Lee's, Greenleafs etc. We were then all in the midst of extensive preparations of all sorts, house all in confusion, of course, Lizzie took off her things, got warm & in less than an hour was setting tables, sweeping etc. in spite of anybody. A real lively, homespun, pretty body, at home anywhere. Make Eliab a capital wife, if they should make such a bargain- Good deal of joking on both sides. She insists that they are engaged etc.! Well the same day about 5 o' P.M. all but Mr. & Mrs. Cutler, Mother & I, repaired to Father Kittredge's, at which time and place Charles & Albina were made husband & wife by parson Sewall. Olive Furber & Liz Quimby, brides maids, Jos. & Eliab Groomsmen. After the ceremony they all came directly home. where were assembled some 30 or so, of our friends & neighbors "to spend the evening. Ellen Brown, Greenleaf's, Hills, Dennetts, Furbers, Hartwells etc. We had a good supper, a merry company & every thing passed off beautifully, better than we any of us expected, though I did'nt enjoy it very much because I could'nt be about among them much. Next day friday Mr. Cutler went home, & Sat. Joseph, Ann & Eliab went back to Bangor. I intended to go at the same time but was not well enough. Lizzie Quimby spent almost a week here, went away last Teusday. We get along very snug & pleasantly with Albina. Pleasant, willing to do as folks tell her. She & Charles enjoy themselves finely - "Honey
