User-Contributed Transcription in time past she has treated me ill in various ways - that is, slighted me and shown me that she did not care for my acquaintance. If that is her feeling, well and good. I will not fawn on her. You need'nt think me 'touchy.' I am not. Her treatment has hurt my feelings, more than once. I have ever treated her kindly, and shall continue to do so when we meet, but I am too proud - if you will call it so - to bow and cringe. Angella has a cousin visiting there Miss Sawyer no taller than Albina, & as big, every whit, as old Mrs. Davis. A fine girl I guess. Very intelligent countenance, beautiful eye, reminds me of Mrs. Pomroy. Should like to be acquainted with her. As for C. A. Everett, I like him very well. He is quite a talented fellow and very good company, if he is lazy. If I thought he had any books to read, I'd make the best of my way to his lodgings forthwith! I believe I wrote you that Angella has finally given him "the mitten." She was engaged to & corresponded with him until a short time before her return when she wrote him a dismissal. He says she has jilted him and done it as handsomely as a woman could! Report says now she is to be married to Daniel's wife's brother 'down south.' Mehitable Furber and N. Hill expect to be here next Wednes. on their way to Lowell. I can but think Mehitable is very foolish. Joseph says he'll pay for getting my 'Dag' [Daguerreotype] while I'm here, if he may have a 'lean on the image for security!" Well good bye. Ann will finish this letter, and I'll write again after I go home which will be in a few days. Aff Sister Lucy
