User-Contributed Transcription Samuel. He had gone into partnership with one Sam'l Bradeau in some lumbering operations for this winter, and is going up country to buy oxen and hay.Mr. B.F. Hathorne died very suddenly this week of congestion of the brain. He wasted on his table sabbath noon & died tuesday evening. I preserved an account of the laying of the corner stone of our church to send you, but I cannot now find it. Among other valuables deposited beneath it was a copy of the Maine law. We have received letters from you from Cleveland & Cincinnati. William Crosby has had no letter yet but says he shall start Tuesday at any rate. I am much obliged, Nettie, for the braid pattern, but am sorry that you should have troubled yourself to think of it, with all your cares and so little time- what a hurrying, confused, sad and happy time you must have had at your Dunbarton home - do please write us particularly all about your home and accommodations at Jonesboro!
