User-Contributed Transcription opposite where I boarded, in a little old attic chamber with about seven or eight scholars from three to nine years old or so. I really don't know what to do. Shan't I put a "bit o' paper in the windy" and see whether it will blow in or out or stay still, and decide it that way? I must for something with myself. There is nothing of importance for me to do at home and I abominate school-teaching from my heart, especially in the Winter. Ezra Barker commenced a high school at the Village last Monday with seventeen scholars will probably have twenty or more. I might stay here and go to school this fall to him & again in the winter (he keeps the school in our District) if "book knowledge" was all I wanted; but I ought to go away somewhere - to get a "knowledge of the world" as Mother says. I am quite "unsophisticated" you know, as yet. They have a High School in Brownville this fall, taught by Mr. Harvey. I understand Foxcroft Academy commences this term with one hundred scholars. They expect
