User-Contributed Transcription Elian I suppose stays with Mr. Brown another year $400. Mr. Webb preached at the Hall last sabbath he certainly preached very well. I think the Third Parish will settle him another year. Mr. Jewett is in Bangor this winter have not seen enough of him to judge of your opinion. I see nothing to lead me to dispute with you and I think Eliab is of the same opinion of yourself certainly as to one member of the family. There is a new block of six wooden stores nearly completed where Strickland's block was burnt. Jane is here on the tiptoes feel as well as she can and live is a very good girl and a big help to Lucy. John is boarding with us attending the Hampden Academy have killed our winter stock of hens (35) and packed them in snow. There will be a large number of teams in the woods this winter. hay is now worth $12 in Milo it is tho't that it will be much higher towards spring. W.B&S. are supplying some they charge now for flour $6.95 which could be bought such flour as theirs for $5,50. It is not surprising that they never yet supplied a man but that came out in their debt. Their high prices and Fryd - y are enough to ruin any man. What should you think of my building there on farm small tenaments near the Mill to rent to Irish families they would cost probably from $75 to 100, each and rent for $20, per year and the rents safe. I am inclined to believe that they would be good property. S.W.F.I suppose dear brother Josie has been looking for a letter some time. I know we ought to have written before, but we have both been very much engaged, as you may suppose moving & arranging things which have been scattered in so
