User-Contributed Transcription case as yours, to sit still and not try any means to get well, and if you feel that the Hydropathic treatment would be most likely to cure you, I suppose you ought to try it. Eliab was going to write by Mr. Furber today in hopes the letter would reach you sooner then by monday's mail. He foolishly and wickedly, I told him, exerted himself so much at the fire (which I suppose he wrote you about) that he was sick abed all day Thursday & could not write by Friday's mail as you desired. He brought the last box of goods out if Hagg's store, had to go in twice after it, and fainted as soon as he got out. I think he did quite wrong. I don't know who would have risked his life to go in after him if he had fainted in the store. Strickland block - total loss said to be $40,000. Fifteen thousand insured. Fire was not all out and engines playing last night - burnt Thursday morn. Is there anything that I can do for you or furnish you with, Joseph, if you decide to go? If so please let me know. I have lotted so much on having you and Mother come to see us this winter. But never mind, perhaps you will yet. Keep up good courage Josie, and hope for the best. I can not think but that you will get well. We will hope and wait, and try to be willing to have it all just as our Heavenly Father sees best. We know that "He doeth all things well." I must leave a place for Samuel to write some. Write to me too, won't you Joseph, so I may know just what you are going to do. I don't see Live to get his letters very often. I want Mother to write too, and all of you. Love to all. Affectionately, Sister Lucy.
