User-Contributed Transcription pieces of composition now-a-days, peradventure I should go to Foxcroft in the spring. I am preparing rapidly (hen I feel well enough to study) in Arithmetic etc. I feel anxious to know whether friend Tash has recovered his wonted self possession yet? I sorely feared he never would, after the fright he recieved by being to unceremoniously ushered into my sickly presence. Pleas present my unfeigned respects unto him and inform him with regard to my health, which information he politely requested to recieve, when he departed hence. Your affectionate sister Lucy.Do write soon. L.H. MetcalfMilo Jan 1st. 1844 Milo Me Jan 5 Mr. Isaac S. Metcalf Foxcroft Maine.Jan. 11th 1844Foxcroft[upside down] I want you should write long and soon all about how you & Mr. Parker's folks get along and how you & the school prosper. Peradventure on account of my age and experience, I may be able to impart unto you some sage advice, which might be useful. I intend to send a letter to Mother and one to Joseph next week.
