User-Contributed Transcription Bangor Aug 25 - 1851Dear Brother IsaacWe received a letter from you night before last. I rejoiced as much to find that you had at last received letter from us. It seems to me there must have been some unusual delay about them. You say we need feel no anxiety about your health, because you are always so careful. I think you try and intend to take proper care of yourself, but still it can hardly help feeling anxious about you, in that unhealthy again, so far from friends and home. I suppose the warm weather and sickly season are nearly over now. I suppose you are doing pretty well there in the way of property, but I hope you will be able to find a good situation nearer home before long.It is very sickly in Bangor now- dysentery and bowel complaints are very prevalent. I was quite unwell for a week with Diarrhea - am better now though I have hardly recovered my strength yet. Samuel has been growing very poor, and running down hill for a good many weeks, and a little more than a week since he was obliged to give up to a kind of slow billious fever. The doctor has been in most every day for a week. His fever has not been violent at all, and has mostly left him now.
