User-Contributed Transcription Dear Lucy Sat Evening Feb 15th I have long wished to know the state of your mind, but I have had no opportunity or I should say no good one. I have reason to think you are still halting between two opinions. Is it so dear Lucy, are you still rejecting the offers of mercy! cannot you come boldly and say "as for me I will serve the Lord?" Life is uncertain death is certain; we are warned continually of this fact. And should you be called as sudden as many, are you prepared to enter that Heavenly rest which is for the children of God alone. This is a most solemn question for us all. Perhaps you are stumbling at the faults of professing Christians. I fear that my example as one professing the love of Christe, and the advancement of his kingdom in my heart, has not been as it aught.. If this has been a hindrance to you, allow it to be so no longer. look not for an example of Christian perfection here on earth, we have an example in our Saviour which was without spot or blemish if we follow will most certainly lead us to that heavenly rest.
