User-Contributed Transcription April 10th '42My dear Lucy How thankful ought we to be for the Sabbath, with its sweet stillness and calm and holy privileges! - How little do we prise this blessed day as we should do! - Though we cannot always meet in the sanctuary of God and write in supplication, thanksgiving and praise, yet we are not defined of the Book of Life nor of the calm retreat and silent shade "which so well with prayer and praise agree." If our circumstances are such that cannot be alone in person yet we can retire in the spirit of our minds and commune with our God and Saviour and derive such food from the great source of all our blessing as the world knoweth not of. O the blessedness of the christian religion! what a wonder that I was ever made a partaker of it! -- How different is the state of my dear, dear sister today from what is was a year ago. Then she was pining with the sickness her spirit confined within a tenement of clay - to day - O the rapture of her freed spirit. She is done with the emblems of a Sabbath of rest and is now in the full enjoyment of the reality of a never ending rest from all
