I did not get my School money till yesterday. We would be very glad to send more if it could be got, but you know I had only twelve dollars and 'tis necessary for girls to have new clothing in some cases, you know. Joseph came home last Friday. I suppose he wrote you all the news about Examination, - the splendid Pic nic etc. as he said he wrote you a long letter lately. Joseph or Charles are going to Bangor tomorrow and Ann is going to. She goes partly to see about a school and partly to "go a shopping." Eliab wrote not long since- Said he had recieved a letter from you, but did not send it. He says he likes at Brown's well.You know they are just the right sort of people to please. I have had an application from Mr. Newcomb to teach that school. but did not take it, as it was a short school & only a dollar per week. We have neither of us engaged schools yet, & I am afraid shall not. However we must make the best of it, and do up a quantity of studying if we are at home all summer.Arnold Sargent's wife is almost gone in Consumption. The Dr. said she could live but a few days. I watched with her last night. It is rather
