User-Contributed Transcription Bangor May 17th 1852My Dear Children - I want you should write to me immediately & tell me what to do about coming home or rather what you - any of you are going to do about coming down. I suppose Almeda wants to come down. And it would be nice if she & Lissie could come & make their visit & carry me home i.e. if it is best for me to go home at all before next fall. But then I suppose you want the to use the horse every day this long time. & perhaps too A. had rather come after they have got mov'd into the new house. I do want to be at home. And I want to be here with Lucy & Eliab if I could do them any good they are two poor lame backed creatures. I very much doubt whether Eliab had as much prospect of ever being well as Lucy has & she don't certainly get along very fast. 2 or 3 days during the winter she set up all day & 3 times she has made her bed. it was before she went to Milo. I get along quite comfortably with the work. But still I suppose it would be better for them to have a good Smart hired girl if they can get one. I really cannot make up my mind whether I ought to stay or not do tell me all of you what you think about it.[top upside down] Dear Albina Will you please to do your best endeavor to get these tomato seeds planted in a good sunny place & I will try to keep the weeds from them when I get home. I'm some afraid they'll get lost out of the letter.
