User-Contributed Transcription another bill to pay. Dr. McRuen came up to do it the day after you left - did not come sooner because he had no fresh matter. I don't believe Dr. Laughton's was fresh. I made the buttonholes & sewed on the skirt. Our Church has almost decided to settle Mr. Smyth as pastor - to preach three months this year, and six next. I have read the "Golden Legend. The poetry is beautiful, is'nt it? I should love to read it right over again. It is dinner time, [left-hand side] You cannot think how very lonely it seems here - the house is so still, especially when Percie is asleep.
