User-Contributed Transcription through the inter and spring. we have bought as per our Invoice Book $55,000, worth of Goods and have sold $52,000. worth, our busness expenses have been, say $2000, and our present stock is probably worth from $10,000 to $12,000. You can more pretty well understand about how we get along these times. Regular Bank interest here is 12 per cent, last week I could not possibly get a draft discounting which was perfectly undoubted and had but 12 days to run, although sometimes we can get sixty days paper through the Banks. The Elsworth Bank, Bank of Hallowell and Ship Builders Bank of Rockland have recently failed which has caused quite a Panic and all the Banks have been called upon largely for spec's by a class of people who usually keep money by them for a long time which has run down their circulation very low and it is impossible for them to discount to meet the wants of Business here. Still we keep hoping and working and what the End will be we cannot tell.
