User-Contributed Transcription hope we shall pass a good examination; and I wish you could be there. I shall be very happy to come up and see you if it were not for my school. I think I should enjoy it very much; as I have not been in the country for a long time. I suppose you enjoy yourself much better being at home at this season of the year as it is now most time for ripe fruit and vegetables, than you would to be at school. I suppose your garden of flowers which you took so much pains to cultivate in the spring is now in full bloom. It is very sickly here among children and youth. The Scarlet Fever prevails the most of any disease. M. Mills is sick with the Scarlet Fever. The last that I heard from her was that she was very sick. On the Fourth of July, or rather on the Fifth of July, which was celebrated for the Fourth, there was not any celebration worth nameing. There was an address delivered on Slavery. I attended the meeting and I think I never saw so few collected together on such a day in my life. I have a little sister, about a month old and you must find a name for her. give my love to Abby Hill and tell her I want to see her very much.please write me as soon as you receive this Your affectionate friend Annette House
