User-Contributed Transcription the priceless value of the soul, the consequent importance of its salvation, the fathomless & immeasurable extent of the love of God manifested in the plan of its redemption And the awful consequence of neglecting to secure it; And for them, that they may be induced in view of the above with innumerable other motives immediately to repent. Yeald their hearts to Christ, become his faithful followers, and in fine to seek in all things to answer the Chief End of man, which is to glorify God and enjoy him for ever. The interest on the Sab. School although I am sorry to say it seems to be on the wane. The number in attendance is not as large as when you left, while, at the same time, it should be larger, from the fact that its advantages are greater. It is now provided with choice library containing nearly 400 volumes. The interest ought also to be proportionably increased. The useful matter contained in the books read during the week, should not only serve to keep the mind less occupied with worldly subjects & consequently more permanently so with those of a heavenly nature, but it should also lead the mind to an increased interest in the things which are unseen & Eternal.. Now if there is not this manifest increased interest there is fault somewhere. And where does it rest? Are Christians praying less frequently & earnestly than formily? Do the teachers feel as anxious for spiritual well being of their pupils as they have done? Do each doing his utmost to bring all the members of his Class to a saving acquaintance with the Lord Jesus? Does he pray over the lesson with wanted fervor, that his own mind may be the more abundantly replenished with the momentous truths he is about to urge upon the considerations of his class, with the hope that they will prove
