I hope they will fit and suit you etc. I rather think the bosoms will set well, they are hollowed so much in the neck. I could'nt fix them to match the shirts, not having you to measure by. It took all the tape for these bosom strings the way I put it on. Perhaps I did not get it right - measuring by myself, I could not judge very accurately. I have whitened the shirts some, but could not a great deal, as I could only hang them out on a line. They look pretty well however, considering.I sent down by Mr. Dorr to get some starch as these people had none, & he got some miserable dirty stuff, very yellow & bad. I don't know whether it was made of carrots or turnips, or buckwheat. Per consequence of the badness of the starch, your bosoms don't look nice, but perhaps they'll do a day or two apiece. Sam'l Hobbs called at my schoolhouse yesterday to tell me that our folks asked him to take a bundle for me from Mr. Kittredge's and he forgot it. Great consolation to me, was'nt it? I hope twill come by Mr. Cutts today. I have 44
