User-Contributed Transcription answer your questions. "Solitude: I have answered. House keeping I like much. Have just about work enough. It is more for my health to do some stirring work than to sew as much as I have done for a year past. I get along quite as well as I expected - no more awkward feeling and mistakes! Residence - I like - situation also. We do attend meeting here, and like Mr. Tappan very much indeed. You told me of your friend Dutton's acquaintance with him. I go to Bangor whenever I wish to - expect to go next week to attend State Conference - or a part of the time- don't know as I can leave my family all the time! As our cow must have her milk attended to. She give nice good milk too, and I make nice little lumps of butter every week! Strawberries are most ripe, and we'll have cream for them. The Bangor people come down here some - no more than I want, certainly. Ann has been down three times to pass the night - came last Sat, & spent the sabbath. Lissie came with her once. Jos. has been down to pass the night two or three times, Eliab with him once. How I wish you were coming tonight. Vain wish! Olive is coming to see us one of these days, and after she goes to Wisconsin, Mehitable. You did not mention the receipt of my letter - perhaps, though, you had not rec'd it. Joseph has most of your books. But I guess tis most time for me to leave off, or Samuel won't have room to do his part. I'll promise to write as often as you will. Do you reccollect the house between here and Bangor that you remarked, as being built of such beautiful brick. - The house & fence are all of wood, painted like brick. good bye. Aff. sister Lucy
