Orr NYSt Paul Nov 2 1857torn manuscript MotherI rec a letter from you last week, while at work on the road, also from Isaac. I need not say that I am always glad to receive letters from you. I have been absent on the road 4 weeks, leave again to day shall probably be away until I compete the road. Sometime the fore part of Dec, I have but a small crew, 2 teams and 14 men, are getting along with the work very well, shall make good wages if the job. Money in St Paul is exceedingly tight. The City is issuing (unable to issue) scrip in the form of bills for its indebtedness which torn manuscript plated will pass for currency.
